The target audience for this video is the hundreds of millions of people who don’t quite believe the whole bible, but yet consider propagating Christianity nonetheless because of its value as a set of moral guidelines.

This video is what I would say if I could write a letter to Charles Darwin. I am not a biologist, so please notify me of any errors.

I think the best way to help other Americans accept evolution is to educate them on the basics. As a young Christian child I was taught all kinds of incorrect statements about what evolutionists believe (for example, I thought that evolutionists believed that dogs evolved from cats).

Another Youtube user pointed out that i could have been nicer to my mother and sister in this story. I’m adding this note to explain my thought process.

My sister and my mother are both very nice, loving women who I care about very much. The point of this story is that they are both victims of the bad ideas that get propogated by holy books and unknowingly reinforced by parents.

So then why did I emphasize my wife’s personal qualities? In our society we tend to subconsciously make an unfair assumption that successful business women are selfish and cold. So I felt the need to explicitly say that my wife was nice.

When I point out the obvious problems about religion, I feel like the young child pointing out that the emperor has no clothes.

Aside from dodging Hell, my primary reason for holding on to my faith was the promise of Heaven. Without the faith goggles on, Heaven looks a lot different. Have you ever stopped to think about what heaven would actually be like if it became a reality?

Are religious people delusional? No.

Do billions of people believe in things that are not true because of their religion? Yes, It would be hard to find someone who would deny that.

This is an exercise for Christians to help you determine if you hold onto beliefs that are not true.
