I love the USA and I love our flag. So I get super annoyed whenever I think about the fact that our country had a lapse in its commitment to religious freedom when we added “Under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance back in 1954 and “In God We Trust” to paper money in 1957. Are we going to slip into theocracy? Well, fortunately I think our government was set up to move way too slow for something like that. But the words “Under God” can still annoy the F’ out of you!
The Pledge of Allegiance is becoming a hotter topic in certain places because free thinkers are starting to stand up for their rights to send their children to public school without indoctrinating them.

Tired of all the Jesus posts on facebook? This is a new series called DDOJ (Daily Doses of Jesus).
Each video will be a status I see on facebook, and a request for how you would respond in the comments.
Note: I will not be posting a new video every day. The word “Daily” refers to the fact that my friends post this stuff on their facebook statuses every day.

Welcome to the 7th installment of DDOJ – Meaning Daily Doses of Jesus – the series where I solicit the best responses for Obnoxious or just plain crazy religious posts that I see on facebook in an effort to plant seeds of doubt that help cure our Christian friends and relatives of their faith.
This DDOJ should look familiar to most of you. Posts like this one drive me CRAZY! And I bet they drive you crazy too.
Let’s have a look.
I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!!! : I was never the type to be concerned about whether or not I was offending someone. Don’t like it…leave, look away, or my personal fave FUCK OFF.
Uggggg… We must have been going through dark times as a nation when we added “under god” to the Pledge of Allegiance back in 1954. It’s worth noting that that is only 3 years before “in god we trust” was added to paper money.
Here is my response:
It’s so lovely how you Christian’s demonstrate your faith by showing off how nasty you can be to everybody else.
Actually, I’d rather get to the heart of the matter and fight Theocracy.
I would never want to censor anyone from saying it. But to me freedom of religion means not forcing children of all different beliefs to say “under god” when they pledge allegiance to our flag in public schools.
